About Freshman Orientation
Welcome!
Your college experience begins at UT Arlington’s freshmen orientation program, New Maverick Orientation. The majority of this program takes place in the E. H. Hereford University Center and is designed to introduce you to UT Arlington, answer your questions, and prepare you for college life. This freshman orientation program is open only to students who have been granted admission to the University. New Maverick Orientation is attended by all first-time freshmen including those participating in the Gateway or CAP Programs.
During your new student orientation experience, you will have an opportunity to explore the campus and meet faculty, staff, and other new students. In addition, you will meet with your academic advisor, plan your schedule, and register for your first semester of classes. Signing up for orientation early will provide you with a wider selection of classes to choose from.
