Staying Overnight
New Maverick Orientation is much more than just two days of on-campus programming. The Maverick Overnight Experience keeps you in the action and lets you experience life as a college student, before you even start classes!
Whether you live 2 hours away or right around the corner, the Maverick Overnight Experience is a great way to meet new people, learn more about campus life from the orientation leaders and create lasting memories.
The Maverick Overnight Experience provides students with overnight housing in Kalpana Chawala Residence Hall and a cook-out dinner with the Maverick Orientation Leaders. After dinner you can hang out with your new friends, participate in fun games and activities or play basketball/sand volleyball with other new students and Mav OLs.

The Maverick Overnight Experience will be provided for the following orientation sessions:
*June 9 & 10 (TH-F) (FIG Only)
*June 13 & 14 (M-T) (FIG Only)
*June 16 & 17 (TH-F) (First Generation focused)
*June 20 & 21 (M-T)
*July 7 & 8 (TH-F)
*July 21 & 22 (TH-F)
*August 1 & 2 (M-T)
Students can register for an overnight stay when they sign-in to register for their New Maverick Orientation Session. The fee for the Maverick Overnight Experience (overnight housing, 2 meals, and evening activities) is $40.
Students will be staying overnight in Kalpana Chawala Residence Hall. Bed linens, pillow and bath towels are provided but students should bring the following items:
- A change of clothes
- Personal Toiletries
- Shower shoes
- Alarm Clock
- Work-out type clothing & shoes (for evening activities in the Maverick Activities Center)
- More things to Bring
