About Transfer Orientation
Welcome to the University of Texas at Arlington. We are excited that you have chosen to continue your education in Maverick country! You are not alone in your decision to transfer to UT Arlington. Each year over 5,000 students transfer here to take advantage of our excellent faculty, top-ranked programs and more than 300 student organizations.
In the excitement of transferring, many students have questions about academics, student services, and financial aid. Attendance at a Transfer Orientation program will not only answer these questions but prepare you for the college experience at UT Arlington. We understand that this is not your first ride and we respect your previous college experience. Transfer Orientation is designed for the specific needs of transfer students, to acquaint you with UT Arlington’s approach to academic success as well as connect you with students, staff and resources unique to this university.
All transfer students are encouraged to attend transfer orientation but it is highly recommended for students that fit into the following categories:
- Will be transferring in less than 45 credits
- Will be transferring in more than 45 credits but graduated from high school within the past 5 years
- Will be transferring from an institution outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex Area
