Q: Am I required to attend the Veterans Orientation Session Orientation?
A: Veterans Orientation is an optional program specifically designed for veterans returning from active duty as well as those who are interested in using the new military education benefits. Attending the veterans orientation program will satisfy a freshman or transfer orientation requirement.
Q: Why should I attend the Veterans orientation?
A: The Veterans Orientation is specifically designed for veterans returning from active duty as well as those who are interested in using the new military education benefits. There will be presentations from the Veterans affairs office as well as a panel discussion with current veteran students. This is a great opportunity to network with other veterans and get answers to your specific questions.
Q: How do I satisfy the TSI requirement?
A: Veterans can satisfy this requirement by submitting a copy of their DD-214 form to the University Advising Center located in Ransom Hall. If you have questions about your TSI status please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 817-272-6287. Q: When does New Maverick Veterans Orientation take place?
A: Currently Veterans Orientation sessions are only offered for students enrolling in the Fall Term. To see the dates of the Veterans orientation sessions view the orientation dates page.
Q: Does it matter which Orientation date I attend?
A: Veteran students can attend any orientation session available for the term they are enrolling, but they are encouraged to attend a Veterans Orientation program if one is offered.
Q: How long will the Veterans Orientation program last?
A: Veterans Orientation is a one-day event that will begin around 9:00 am and wrap up around 3:00 pm. The remainder of the day can be used for campus business such as academic advising appointments, financial questions and class registration
Q: Do I need to reserve a space in one of the Veteran Orientation programs?
A: Yes, you do need to reserve a space. This can be done through the Register for orientation page.
