Appointments: · Choose the Register tab and complete form; · Choose Make appointments tab (read instructions carefully); · 45-minute face-to-face appointments starting on the hour from among available slots, which appear in white; Students should make appointments in advance, but walk ins welcome when sessions available; Sessions should be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours before assignment is due to instructor; An electronic confirmation will be sent to UTA student email when appointment is made successfully; Successfully made appointments will appear in orange for face-to-face or red for online; 2 sessions per week (Mon-Sun) allowed; · An electronic reminder will be sent the evening before scheduled session; · Bring hard copies of paper, instructor guidelines/comments to each session, or upload documents for online sessions prior to start of session; · Consultant notes will be sent to student and instructor electronically at session completion; · Online appointments subject to same guidelines (Choose Online Appointment tab and read instructions carefully). Cancellations/No Shows: (The Writing Center serves a growing number of students across campus. The Writing Center has adopted the following policies to ensure that we are able to meet these needs.) ·Students who cannot attend their sessions should go to the appointments tab and cancel sessions no later than 45 minutes prior to appointment. Email responses to automatically generated reminders will not serve as appropriate cancellation; · Students should be at appointment on time and prepared with hard copies of relevant materials; · Students who are not prepared will be asked to reschedule their appointments; · Students who fail to cancel appointments and do not attend sessions on time will be marked as No Shows; · Students are marked as No Shows after five minutes; · Students who arrive late can still make an appointment as a walk in, based on availability; · After 2 No Shows, students will not be able to make appointments in advance on our online system, but can come to the Writing Center as a walk-in; General Information: Consultants assist students with all phases of the invention, writing, and revision process, but they do not proofread nor edit papers and do not have expertise in style and formatting guidelines. Consultants will help students identify repeating grammar errors and also will assist students in learning to better understand and use appropriate style guides.
