Do I have to register my student(s) for Family Weekend?

Yes! If you would like your student(s) to attend activities with you during Family Weekend your student(s) will need to be registered as well. We have specially designed these events for your entire family, and we know this will be an excellent time for your family to reconnect with your UT Arlington student(s).

However, we encourage you to ask your student(s) about any exams, assignment deadlines or other events that may be a conflict to the Parent & Family Weekend dates before registering.

When does registration open and close?

Parent & Family Weekend Online Registration is NOW OPEN!!!  Parent & Family Weekend registration typically opens at the beginning of June during New Maverick Orientation and closes 2-3 weeks before the scheduled event date.

NOTE: Parent & Family Weekend registration may close earlier due to capacity restrictions. Parent & Family Weekend 2017 exceeded participation goals by several hundred participants, so please be sure to register as soon as possible.

How much does it cost to attend Parent & Family Weekend?

Early Bird Registration (June 1 - August 31)

  • Adult tickets (11 and older) are $30.00
  • UTA student tickets are  $15.00
  • Children 6-10 years old are $ 15.00
  • Children 5 and under are FREE (with the purchase of an adult ticket)

Regular Ticket Prices (September 1 - October 8) DEADLINE EXTENDED

  • Adult tickets (11 and older) are $35.00
  • UTA student tickets are  $15.00
  • Children 6-10 years old are $ 15.00
  • Children 5 and under are FREE (with the purchase of an adult ticket)

* A verification of your active membership status will be conducted.  All registrants that are not current members into the MPFA will have an additional fee assessed to their account if the appropriate section is not selected.

What are the signature events?

 Signature Parent & Family Weekend Events

  • Dinner with UTA President, Dr. Vistasp Karbhari
  • The Studio Arts Center Experience including glassblowing, encaustic painting, and printmaking demonstrations
  • Blaze's Fall Extravaganza
  • Maverick Family Games featuring a-Movin' Mavs Wheelchair Basketball Game
  • Maverick Family Awards & Pre-Dinner Show

What is included in the Family Weekend Registration Fee?

  • Access to all official Parent & Family Weekend events and activities

  • FREE On-Campus Parking in designated lots Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21. However, vehicle registration is required.

  • Two Meals

    • Welcome Breakfast on 10-20-18, and the President's Dinner on 10-20-18.
    • Light refreshments will be provided at some events, but not all events
    • There are a few times in the schedule where guests will pay an additional cost to participate in the event.
  • Custom Parent & Family Weekend T-shirt and giveaways

How do I add additional guests to my existing registration?

You can add additional guests to your reservation by accessing the online Maverick Parent & Family Association/Parent & Family Weekend online registration form.

NOTE: The Parent & Family Center uses the same registration form for the Maverick Parent & Family Association and Parent & Family Weekend. You may register for both simultaneously, register for both on different dates, or register for just one and not the other. You will only be charged for the items you select.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

All fees associated with Parent & Family Weekend are non-refundable, so be sure to carefully review the Parent & Family Weekend schedule and pricing to inform your decision before making your reservations. Please contact the Parent & Family Center at 817-272-2128 if you have additional questions or concerns regarding registration cancellations.

What if I need special accommodations?

All participants will be sent a special accommodations request form within their Parent & Family Weekend confirmation email. If you plan to request specific dietary or programmatic accommodations (i.e., sign language interpreter, an alternate format for print information), please be sure to complete the form before the event (three weeks notice is suggested).

Participants that need to request wheelchairs or other mobility assistive devices, please be sure to notify the Parent & Family Center before the event (three weeks notice is also suggested).
