PHYSICS DISPLAY COMMEMORATES
EINSTEIN CENTENNIAL |
Dr. Jaehoon Yu and
physics students Jacob Smith and James Creel, current and
former presidents of the Society of Physics Students, invite
the public to see the on-going physic displays in honor of
the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein's great year of
discovery and the World Year of Physics. The
first exhibit is in the large display room by the cafeteria
in the E.H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First St.,
through Sept. 16. The exhibit contains detectors and physics
research equipment from the past and present. These include
magnetism at the nano scale in solid state physics,
holograms in optics and a cloud chamber and scintillation
counters in high energy physics. Physics undergraduate
students will be on hand to explain the exhibits.
