Today's Events
1:00 pmSecret of the Cardboard Rocket
Join two children on a magical journey through the Solar System, aided by a talking astronomy book, a cardboard rocket, and a vivid imagination. During this imaginative show, audiences will land on Venus, fly through the rings of Saturn, and discover the secrets of the Solar System.
2:30 pm$2 Movie - Up
Come see your favorite movies again on our REALLY BIG screen!
5:30 pmTwo Small Pieces of Glass
Follow two students as they interact with an astronomer at a local star party. Along the way the students learn how telescopes work, the history of telescopes, and major discoveries made by these instruments. Enjoy this beautiful show created just for the International Year of Astronomy 2009 by Imiloa Astronomy Center, Buhl Planetarium at the Carnegie Science Center, and Interstellar Studios. Animations by Mirage 3D. Music performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
7:00 pmIBEX: Search for the Edge of the Solar System
Designed for visitors with an appreciation for the challenges of space science and a desire to learn more about science research, IBEX: Search for the Edge of the Solar System follows the creation of NASA's Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX). Audiences will get an in-depth look at the mission and how IBEX is collecting high-speed atoms to create a map of our Solar System's boundary.
8:30 pmRock Hall of Fame 1

Planetary Weight and Age Calculator

What much do I weigh?

Your weight varies directly with your mass (your mass is how much matter is present in your body) and the mass of the planet you're on. The more mass you have, the more you'll weigh. Also, the more mass the planet has, the more you'll weigh. So what do I weigh on all the planets? Find out below.

How old am I?

Your age in years equals the number of times the Earth has revolved around the Sun while you've been alive. Translating the number of Earth revolutions into revolutions on another planet and converting back to Earth-years gives your age on that planet. Try it out below.
