Proposal Deadline – October 2, 2009

 

It is time to think about submitting your proposal for the Southwestern Political Science Association Annual Meeting, in conjunction with the Southwestern Social Science Association, to be held in Houston, Texas, March 31 to April 3, 2009. The Southwestern Social Science Association meetings provide many opportunities to network with fellow political scientists, and social scientists from a variety of other disciplines.

 

PROPOSALS

We welcome proposals for any of the following and encourage participation as a panel chair or discussant:

Individual or Co-authored Papers

Complete Panels

Roundtables

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research

Posters

 

To submit a proposal or sign-up as a chair or discussant, please follow these directions.

 

Complete the proposal form found on the SWPSA website, www.swpsa.org, or go directly to swpsa.ucr.edu.  You must submit your proposal no later than October 2, 2009. 

 

Attention: These sites will be ready to accept proposals by the end of July, 2009

 

You will be notified of the status of your proposal once all proposals have been reviewed.

The final notification will be sent to you in late October.

 

To those offering a complete panel submission, in order to facilitate scheduling, please email your request to the Program Chair (David W. Romero, david.romero@utsa.edu), as well as the appropriate section chair.

 

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PANELS

The SWPSA will continue to have undergraduate research panels. Undergraduate students wishing to submit a paper proposal will submit a proposal as well using the same websites above.

All presenters on these panels will be undergraduate students.

 

AWARDS

The SWPSA gives six best paper awards, with prizes varying from $250 to $500

(including prizes for graduate and undergraduate research).
