Dear Colleagues:
The University of Texas at Arlington has purchased a new student information system and will begin immediately converting to this system. UTA currently uses multiple systems to deliver student services, and this multiple-platform approach no longer serves our needs in the best way. To prevent our aging systems from hindering our progress, UTA has purchased PeopleSoft’s product, and we have hired Cedar Enterprise Solutions, Inc. as our implementation partner for the new two years.
The new student information system, which we will call MyMav, will be one of the largest information technology implementations ever undertaken at UTA. Our goal is to change the way we serve our students by providing Web-based solutions and tools that improve our ability to access reliable, accurate, timely and streamlined information. More information will soon be available on the project’s Web site http://oit.uta.edu/mymav.
The cooperation of everyone at UTA is important in this two-year venture. Many of you may be asked to re-engineer, redesign, and replace some of your existing business practices. Your patience, creativity, and resiliency will be among our greatest strengths in making this transition smooth and successful.
I am excited about the MyMav project and, when fully implemented, I believe it will make a real improvement for our university. I look forward to watching the project’s progress. Your patience and cooperation in the coming months will be deeply appreciated.
Sincerely,
James D. Spaniolo
President
