Tsunami Relief Efforts

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON

office of the president

January 4, 2005

Dear Colleagues:

Many members of the U.T. Arlington community have family and friends from the nations most affected by the recent earthquake and tsunamis in South Asia. We stand beside them in their grief and pledge support in their recovery.

In response to this terrible tragedy, we invite members of our university family to aid relief efforts through our Center for Community Service Learning, which will forward donations to the Red Cross and UNICEF until February 14. Cash or checks may be taken to the Center for Community Service Learning office (B18 Davis Hall) or UTA Volunteers office (Lower Level University Center). For more information, please contact Nelda Lawson at (817) 272-2124 or neldalawson@uta.edu.

Between now and the beginning of the spring semester on January 18, the university will be reaching out to our international students who may have been adversely affected by this disaster. We will be taking necessary steps to provide assistance and support.

Sincerely,

James D. Spaniolo

President
