Vice President for Student Affairs

May 24, 2005

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Frank R. Lamas as Vice President for Student Affairs, effective August 1, 2005.

Our search committee, chaired by Dr. Michael K. Moore, conducted a thorough nationwide search that yielded several excellent candidates. The committee did an exceptional job. Five finalists visited campus during the spring semester, and Dr. Lamas emerged as the preferred candidate.

Dr. Lamas, who holds a Ph.D. in educational administration from the State University of New York-Albany, is currently associate vice president for Student Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He has almost 30 years of experience in student affairs, including three senior-level positions, and has been at RIT since 1995.

We look forward to working with Frank in this important leadership role. Please join us in congratulating him and welcoming him to UTA.

Sincerely,

James D. Spaniolo
