To all members of the UTA campus community:
The statements of goals, objectives and strategies presented here are the result of many hours of work by faculty, staff, administrators and students. These items will be the foundation of the 2006-2010 Strategic Plan, on which action plans for UTA's future will be built.
In Fall 2004, we began our Strategic Conversations with various campus groups, including two open forums for faculty, a session with department chairs and program directors, and a conversation with the Faculty Senate. Approximately 130 faculty and academic unit administrators participated in providing ideas, suggestions, and comments.
In February and March 2005, the Strategic Planning Committee, consisting of faculty, staff, administrator and student members, conducted an analysis of UTA's current internal strengths and
weaknesses, as well as external conditions and trends expected to result in opportunities or threats in the future. We continued our Strategic Conversations with other UTA constituencies, including students, alumni and community members.
In April 2005, we arranged for Deans to attend a two-day planning retreat with the goal of drafting a set of goals, objectives and strategies under each of the nine planning priorities adopted by the University in March 2005.The Deans continued to refine the statements over the summer of 2005, and the campus community provided input to the draft document in October 2005.
Thank you for your interest in the future of our institution! Any questions or comments regarding the Strategic Plan can be directed to the Office of Institutional Research and Planning at IRP_SACS@uta.edu
Sincerely,
