Marching Toward Tier One Status
Sustaining Educational Excellence
President James D. Spaniolo discusses UT Arlington's progress toward becoming a major national research university at the President's Annual Leadership Meeting and Luncheon.
The University of Texas at Arlington is charting a course toward becoming a national research institution. Our comprehensive university includes more than 28,000 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in 180 fields within 10 colleges and schools.
Sponsored research expenditures at UT Arlington are soaring, and our faculty members are recognized as innovators and pioneers. The University is attracting more top-tier faculty and students as it invests significant new resources in scholarships, stipends and grants.
Our momentum is increasing with new state matching funds for university research made available by the landmark House Bill 51, known as the "Tier One" bill. This legislation makes additional funds available for seven emerging Texas research institutions, including UT Arlington.
We invite you to join and support us as The University of Texas at Arlington marches toward becoming a Tier One university.
