Workshop on Preparing for Third Year Review: Friday, March 21, 12:00 - 1:00

On Friday, March 21 at 12:00 noon, the Divison of Faculty Affairs will be hosting a workshop on preparing one's dossier for third-year pre-tenure review. Invited panelists are the three members of UT Arlington's University-level Promotion and Tenure Review Committee: Provost Ron Elsenbaumer, Vice President for Research Carolyn Cason, and Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs David Silva. The workshop, offered as part of the Faculty Mentoring Program, is open to all those interested. Please be sure to RSVP by March 17 to Nadine Douditski (nadine@uta.edu). Location: Rady Room, Nedderman Hall (6th floor).

Do you have expertise in blended/hybrid teaching and learning? Do you have expertise in the use of effective teaching technology, i.e. Lecture Tools or other technology that helps students be more attentive or learn better? The Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) is looking for faculty at all ranks who would be willing to share their expertise with others. "Setting the Tone on Day One - A Workshop of Best Practices for the First Day of Class": Friday, March 28, 2014, 1:00 - 4:00 PM

Bring your laptops and mobile devices! This workshop will provide information about best practices on the first day of class for every course one teaches: how to set the tone for a   course, demonstrations of first-day activities, and policy issues that should be addressed. Refreshments will be provided. Be on the lookout for the official poster and RSVP opportunity coming soon! Sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Division of Faculty Affairs. Scheduled presenters include David Silva, Mary Lynn Crow, Kim Breuer, Peggy Semingson, Nilakshi Veerabathina. Location: Central Library, Sixth Floor.
