COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION NAMES NEW MARKETING FACULTY
The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business Administration has named Doug Grisaffe, Ph.D., tenure track assistant professor of marketing. Dr. Grisaffe was formerly vice president and chief research methodologist for Walker Information and adjunct professor of marketing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Vanderbilt University. He is also a member of the American Marketing Association. Dr. Grisaffe’s research interests include measurement and management of customer loyalty. He currently teaches principles of marketing and marketing models.
COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION NAMES NEW ECONOMICS FACULTY
The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business Administration has named three new faculty members in the Department of Economics.
Cagatay Koc, Ph.D., began serving as assistant professor in June. Dr. Koc was formerly adjunct assistant professor of economics at Columbia University and consulting economist with National Economic Research Associates—both in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Economics at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include industrial organization, health economics and applied econometrics.
James T. Bang, Ph.D., has been named visiting assistant professor and will begin teaching at UT Arlington during the fall semester. Dr. Bang is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he served as a teaching assistant and earned a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Economics. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Economics from Truman State University. Dr. Bang’s research interests include international economics, developmental economics, econometrics and transition economics.
Shushanik Papanyan, Ph.D., has been named visiting assistant professor and will begin teaching at UT Arlington during the fall semester. Dr. Papanyan was formerly adjunct faculty at Houston Baptist University and teaching fellow at the University of Houston. She earned a Bachelor of Science in International Economics at Yerevan State University in Armenia, a Master of Arts in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Houston. Her research interests include time series econometrics, applied macroeconomics and international economics.
COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROMOTES ACCOUNTING FACULTY
The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business Administration has promoted Chandra Subramaniam, Ph.D., from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure. Dr. Subramaniam has been with the university since 2003. Prior to that, he taught accounting at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Malaya and a Bachelor of Accounting, Master of Business Administration and Ph.D. in Accounting at the University of Minnesota. He is Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. Dr. Subramaniam teaches financial and managerial accounting.
SCHOOL OF NURSING PROMOTES FACULTY MEMBERS
The University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing has promoted five faculty members.
Cheryl Anderson, RN, Ph.D., has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure. Dr. Anderson’s research areas include family and workplace violence, adult and teen addiction, postpartum depression and women’s health. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University, a Master of Nursing in Maternal-Child Health from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University.
Joy Don Baker, RN, Ph.D., CNOR, CNAA, BC, has been promoted from assistant clinical professor to associate clinical professor. She has been a faculty member at UT Arlington since 2000 and formerly served as director of distance education. She is chief executive officer for Benmardon Inc., principal consultant for J.D. Baker Consulting Services- and has served as regional clinical sales support coordinator for Magellan Medical Services Inc. Dr. Baker’s research interests include tool development relative to meaning-making of transitions in life, nursing administration and leadership, perioperative nursing and distance education as social change. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma University, a Master of Business Administration from NOVA University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Development and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from The Fielding Institute.
Jennifer Gray, RN, Ph.D has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure and associate dean of the Ph.D. in Nursing program. She has been a faculty member at UT Arlington since 1989 and formerly served as assistant to the dean and total program evaluation coordinator. Dr. Gray’s research areas include medication adherence among persons living with HIV/AIDS, spirituality among nurses and measuring HIV/AIDS education outcomes. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central State University in Edmond, Okla.; a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Ph.D. in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University.
Judy LeFlore, Ph.D., RNC, NNP, CPNP, ACPNP, has been promoted from assistant clinical professor to associate clinical professor. She is director for the Pediatric and Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at UT Arlington. She also serves as faculty director for the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems. Dr. LaFlore’s research areas include extremely low birth weight neonates. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in Business from Amber University, a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University.
Diane Snow, Ph.D., APRN, BC, CARN, PMHNP, has been promoted from assistant clinical professor to clinical professor. She is also director for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program and co-director of the Center for Psychopharmacology Education and Research. She has been a faculty member at UT Arlington since 1979. Dr. Snow’s clinical area of interest is psychiatric/mental health nursing with a focus on addictions and co-occurring disorders. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University, a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Ph.D. in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University. She received the 2003 Education Award from the International Society of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurses.
