Ø CENTER WILL HELP SMALL MANUFACTURERS IN HURRICANE DEVASTED REGIONS OF THE GULF COAST

ARLINGTON—The United States Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology today announced grants totaling $4.5 million to five organizations to assist the estimated 14,000 manufacturers located in regions of the five states on the Gulf of Mexico that the Federal Emergency Management Agency declared disaster areas following last year’s hurricanes. The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, for which The University of Texas at Arlington holds the federal contract, will receive $800,000.
