Gas drilling rig to be removed from UT Arlington campus

ARLINGTON—The natural gas drilling rig that is currently on the southeast corner of The University of Texas at Arlington campus will be dismantled and removed from campus Saturday, May 24.

Throughout the day on Saturday, there will be an increase in truck traffic in the area as Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc. dismantles the drilling apparatus and moves it off campus. Removal of the rig is on schedule, following the initial drilling of six wells on this site.The drill site will continue to be fenced and secured until the next phase of activity begins later in the summer.
