ACCOUNT CREATION

Upon award, account creation will be initiated by the Office of Grants and Contracts Services. The Principal Investigator and administrative person designated by the department (if any) will receive a Project Establishment Notice (PEN) that will contain the account number, project dates, amount and any terms and conditions governing the award. If the award documentation is received prior to the project start date, an account will be established for the new award prior to the start date. If an account number is needed prior to the award start date, please notify your Grant and Contract Specialist.
If the award documentation is received after the project start date, an account will be established as soon as possible but no later than 2 business days after receipt, barring missing information. Grant and Contract Accounting personnel fund the account after receipt of the PEN.
