Regulatory Services provides support for four federally mandated review committees: Institutional Review Boards (IRB), the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and the Committee on Research Integrity (CRI). A certified animal technologist and University Veterinarian provide supervision and guidance in animal care. Regulatory Services also supports the institution in promoting scholarly activities and the ethical conduct of research by educating UTA faculty and student researchers in regard to compliance requirements specific to their area of scientific interest in animal or human subject research. Education and guidance is additionally provided in the use of Recombinant DNA molecules, and the use of select agents, effort reporting, misconduct regulations, conflict of interest disclosure and management requirements and export control.
