ARCH 4395 - Digital Construction

 The workshop will invetigate the material and digital construction of small scale objects. The intention is to conjoin the materials and methods of the digital environment with the material practices of actual construction. The virtual will be also examined through this hybrid process. The project Macrobes is the development of a utilitarian device to serve as an alternate component within the architecture buildings service infrastructure. The objects themselves will be hybrids encompassing physical devices, digital projections, web animations and streaming video.

ARCH 4556 - Design Studio: Architecture III
Fall 2006
The intention of this course is to investigate the library at the time of its shift from a description place of books and reading to that of electronic writing and interactive networking. Project I and subsequent exercises have been developed to establish conceptual, experiential and programmatic strategies to address the program of the final project: A community library sponsored by the ACSA/American Wood Council. The brief projects the library as an articulation of the public realm through the redefinition of its program and mission.
