Summary Background
 

Dr. Alejandro del Carmen (Chair and Associate Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice) has been a member of UTA's faculty since 1998. He is an Instructor in the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (since 2001) and has served as instructor in the Arlington Police Department Training Academy (4 years). He is certified as a grant evaluator/reviewer for the Department of Justice and as an instructor for the Texas commission on law enforcement officer standards and education.

CRCJ 5310-001 - Statistics and Research Practices in Criminal Justice
Summer 11-week 2009

The main objective of this course is to expose students to the theoretical and methodological issues affecting criminology and criminal justice today.  Particular emphasis will be placed on research design and analysis.  Further, students will be instructed on particular aspects of SPSS and data analysis.
