Small Business Institute
 About

The Small Business Institute utilizes students and faculty from the University of Texas at Arlington to furnish business counseling assistance to the small business community.  The SBI uses qualified business students that work in teams with selected businesses on specific management assistance projects.

Both the small businesses and students benefit from the program.  For students, the SBI offers an opportunity to put their classroom knowledge and problem solving skills to work.  For small business owners, the program furnishes valuable consulting services which they might not be able to afford.

The SBI is located in the College of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Since its inception over twenty years ago, the SBI has assisted nearly three hundred local small businesses.  The program has won numerous awards from the Small Business Administration, including the SBA's annual award for the best case in the nation.
