What is Cost-Share Tutoring?

Cost-Share tutoring provides individualized tutoring to any UTA student for $6.50 per hour. The Student Service Fee Advisory Committee ( SSFAC ) subsidizes the cost of tutoring so that low-cost, high-quality tutors are available in a variety of courses to all students. The Cost-Share Tutorial Program began in September 1983 and is nationally certified through the College Reading and Learning Association ( CRLA ). All tutors are upperclassmen or graduate students who have been recommended by professors and have a 3.0 minimum GPA. They must complete at least ten hours of training before working with students and attend additional training sessions each semester. Students may schedule sessions with a tutor during the day, evening, or on weekends, depending upon the tutor's schedule and availability. All tutoring sessions must be held on the UTA campus in a public place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
