Student Support Services (SSS) provides opportunities for academic development and serves to motivate students towards a successful completion of their undergraduate college experience at the University of Texas at Arlington .

Student Support Services is a component of the federal TRiO programs, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and was the original SOAR (Students Obtaining Academic Readiness) program established at UTA in 1976.

The goal of SOAR SSS is to improve academic performance, increase retention and graduation rates, and to help foster an environment that supports undergraduate students.
