Tutoring is an active learning process, requiring that both the students and the tutor interact to achieve understanding of the material. SOAR tutoring is nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association. Tutors who work for SSS are trained and qualified. They are upper division students who have been recommended by UTA professors in their tutorial field. Tutors work with students in groups of no more than four in hour-long sessions once or twice per week.
