Prospective Students The University of Texas at Arlington offers several undergraduate and graduate degrees in the fields of Sociology and Anthropology. Students who attend UT Arlington are guided by award-winning faculty and have opportunities to participate in ground-breaking research. Students who pursue major or minor degrees in Sociology are introduced to a world of discovery in human relationships and social issues. Students are often challenges to look at themselves as well as the world around them to find patterns in every-day living and solve social problems. The program offers bachelor's and master's degrees. Sociology is a field of study offering a diversity of sub-fields and methods of study. At UT Arlington, students review these many sub-fields, examine the different ways in which sociologists conduct research, and receive opportunities to apply what they learn. A major or minor in Anthropology can provide a valuable perspective in helping you understand human behavior. In an increasingly interdependent and multicultural world, people who understand the role of culture, past and present, can expect to be more effective citizens, neighbors, and leaders. The Anthropology program offers B.A. and M.A. degrees in a diverse program, enabling students to gain rich experience in the three fields of archaeology, biological anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology. Many of our students go on to a Ph.D. program elsewhere after completing their graduate studies at UT Arlington, while others want to enhance skills in research, writing, and analysis for their current position or seek new professional experiences upon graduation. |
