Assistant in Practice Professor Positions

The UT-Arlington School of Social Work invites nominations and applications for several non-tenure earning Assistant Professor-in-Practice positions.
• An MSW in social work from a CSWE accredited program is required.
• Teaching experience is preferred, with an interest in teaching direct practice.
• The ability to teach across program levels (BSW and MSSW), as well as teaching distance education and/or online courses.
• Field instruction and/or liaison experience is strongly desired.
• Knowledge and support of evidence-informed practice.
• Demonstrated understanding of theory and its application to human behavior and social work practice.
• A minimum of three years post-MSW social work practice experience is required.
• Members of minority groups, Spanish-speaking persons, women, and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The University of Texas at Arlington is part of the University of Texas system serving approximately 33,000 students in an affordable, convenient city of 380,000 at the heart of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, where a range of cultural arts, sports, and family entertainment is available. The School of Social Work enrolls approximately 1,300 BSW, MSSW and Ph.D. students and participates in several distance education programs. The School is home to the Center for Child Welfare, the Center for Addition and Recovery Studies, the Center for Clinical Social Work, the Center for Advocacy Non-Profit and Donor Organizations, and the Innovative Community-Academic Partnership program. It is a partner in the new Center for African American Studies (housed at the School of Social Work). It is also home to three professional journals: The Journal of Technology and Human Service, The Journal of Policy Practice, and Adoption Quarterly.
