Roy Dulak Endowed Professorship
The purpose of the Dulak Professorship is to support and honor an outstanding faculty member who substantially enriches the educational, service and research program at the School of Social Work in the area of community practice and who promotes strong relationships between UT Arlington and the surrounding community.
Dr. Richard Schoeck is honored with this award.
Roy & Betty Dulak Endowed Scholarship
MSSW Students
The Roy and Betty Dulak Endowed Scholarship Award was established by the Hillcrest Foundation to attract and retain first and second year MSSW Social Work students entering the field of Community and Administration Practice.
Judith Birmingham Endowed Scholarship
BSW, MSSW Students
Full time student pursuing either a BSW or MSSW in social work and have completed at least one semester of course work, maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrating financial need.
Scholarship recipients may reapply provided they remain in good standing in the School of Social Work. Reapplying students will be given priority over new applicants. No student shall hold this scholarship for more than two years.
Lila B. Hagins Endowed Scholarship
BSW, MSSW, PhD Students
Full time students who have expressed an interest in pursuing a social service career and have been accepted and are enrolled in the School of Social Work. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Coleen Shannon Endowed Scholarship
BSW, MSSW Students
BSW or MSW Students based on financial need.
Carolyn C. and Santos H. Hernández Endowed Scholarship
BSW, MSSW, PhD Students
First generation college students who are majoring in Social Work, are single parents, or who have otherwise had to overcome personal obstacles in pursuit of their educational goals.
Jeannette Coburn Endowed Scholarship
MSSW students
Incoming or continuing MSSW students in need of assistance to attend on a full-time basis.
Peter G. Gaupp Endowed Scholarship
MSSW Students
Gifts to this fund support scholarships and stipends for MSSW students concentrating in community and administrative practice. Awards are given to students with financial need who might not otherwise be able to obtain a graduate college education.
Glen W. Rollins Mental Health Endowed Scholarship
MSSW, PhD Students
This endowment provides an annual scholarship to a deserving student pursuing study in the field of mental illness and or public social service. The award is intended for incoming or continuing students and may be renewed.
Federico Souflée, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
BSW, MSSW, PhD Students
This endowment awards scholarships to students who have a history of working with the Mexican-American community with satisfactory progress toward a degree. Recipients may continue to receive this assistance for subsequent years.
Alumni Scholarship Fund
BSW, MSSW, PhD Students
Proceeds from the School’s annual Night of Excellence event helped establish this fund. Gifts to this fund help award scholarships to students with a financial need for assistance with their education.
Dean’s Scholarship Fund
BSW, MSSW, PhD Students
Outstanding social work students who have demonstrated financial need.
Charles H. Mindel Graduate Research Scholarship Fund
PhD, MSSW Students
Eligibility is limited to graduate students, either Ph.D. or Master’s, working on empirical, preferably quantitative, dissertation, or thesis research in all fields of social work.
Dean’s Excellence Fund
The School of Social Work Dean’s Excellence Fund is a source of unrestricted dollars that benefit the school’s priorities and needs. Gifts to this fund support important opportunities such as:
- Scholarships
- Student Activities
- Visiting Lecturers
- Special Needs of Students
A recent example includes purchase of text books for students who were admitted (to the SSW) as a result of being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
PhD Assistantship Fund
PhD Students
The PhD Research Assistantship Fund reimburses students for their assistance to Faculty research and training initiatives.
