America World Adoption Association, an evangelical Christian non-profit international adoption agency, is seeking a Director of Social Services to work in Texas.
The Director of Social Services is responsible for the oversight of all social services provided to America World clients in the State of Texas. Responsibilities include conducting/supervising home studies and post placements; maintaining the agency’s license in accordance with state regulations; conducting home study orientation meetings and training for families; training and supervising a staff of Home Study Coordinators; assisting the public relations team with seminars as needed; meeting with families during or after business hours. The qualified candidate is a committed believer in Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible, has dynamic skills to communicate with prospective families the blessing of adoption, is thorough and complete in dealing with all issues and problems, is a self-starter and able to follow through on tasks, has excellent verbal/written communication skills, and has basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
This is a full-time position that allows the Director to work from home and requires moderate amount of travel in the local area.
Further requirements for the position:
-Master’s or doctoral degree in social work or human services/child welfare field, or Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field combined with two years’ full-time experience in the field of placing children in residential settings or adoptive homes.
-One year of full-time experience in management or supervision of child-placing personnel and programs
-Active Child Placing Agency Administrator’s license or ability to complete required coursework and pass the examination developed and administered by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
