Mission

Providing researched, evidenced-based, trauma informed services in prevention, intervention and recovery support services; trains social workers ready to impact changes in oppressed populations; and adds to addiction and recovery practice knowledge through collaborative research.

Community Service

Providing researched, evidenced-based, trauma informed services in prevention, intervention and recovery support services through the following programs offered to the community:

All programs are funded by grants and provided to the community free of charge.

Student Intern Training

Trains social workers ready to impact changes in oppressed populations:

Preparing social work students to be equipped to providing competent, evidenced-based social work services and demonstrate excellence in professionalism. Through a systematic, experiential training program, CARS equips 25-30 interns per semester with the skills ready to impact changes in oppressed populations.

Research

CARS facilitates faculty research not only on current programs, but community collaborations. CARS also tracks current trends in mental health, substance use and evidence-based interventions.
