Description: The FAHA works in collaboration with the courts, attorneys, DFPS (CPS), child placing agencies, and other related professionals in regards to the fostering/adoption of children. The FAHA participates in the development of various reports which may include the health, genetic, emotional, social, marital, or mental health history of a child or adult as outlined by the particular entity requesting the evaluation and/or report. The FAHA will be responsible for determining whether a home environment is safe, the stability of an individual/couple in providing care for a child who may or may not be biologically related to them, and in completing related reports for the court. Many of the families being assessed are kinship families who desire to care for a related child that is currently in CPS custody, others might be related but seeking to adopt or provide long-term foster care to a related child.
Service area: Needing workers who live in or can regularly service clients in the following counties: Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, Ellis, Johnson, Hood, Somervell, Erath, Palo Pinto, Parker, and Wise. Bilingual encouraged to apply (for service areas including Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant Counties).
Qualifications: Worker should be available primarily nights and/or weekends. Must meet one of the following options:
Option #1 – Master’s Degree in Social Work or related human service field and one (1) year of relevant work experience for a child placing agency.
Option #2 – Master’s Degree in unrelated field and two (2) years of relevant work experience for a child placing agency.
Option #3 – Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related human service field and three (3) years of relevant work experience for a child placing agency.
Option #4 – Bachelor’s Degree in unrelated field and four (4) years of relevant work experience for a child placing agency.
