Program Assistant- Internship (Stipend)

General Function: Responsible for assisting with implementing, coordinating, planning, developing, and evaluating all defined programs and activities. In addition, the incumbents assists with administrative duties which include maintaining program forms, and confidential information/data. In addition, the incumbent provides and maintains programs relevant to the needs of the community and builds a positive force within the community in seeking solutions to its needs. Oversee and works closely with the community partners and provide support and information as well as be responsible for day-to-day implementation of programs and general program operations. Coordinate activities and functions of the program to ensure that goals and objectives specified are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and skills (specialized, technical, or practical)- Bachelor degree in physical education, recreation administration, criminal justice, counseling, social work, sociology, psychology or related experience including 1 year experience working with children, youth, and families. Human Relations Skills- Ability to relate effectively to diverse group of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Communication skills relative to meeting participants and community needs are highly important. Technology skills include basic computer skills and knowledge of MS office, Publisher, PowerPoint, Adobe, Internet, Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge and background in public relations and promotion; development; recruitment, and leadership of both volunteer leaders and employees; working with families, youth and teens.
