Toy Howard

Toy Howard is a native Texan, born in Dallas, TX. Toy graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Social work from University of Texas at Arlington and later attended Texas A & M Commerce with where she obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work. Prior to coming to UTA Ms. Howard worked for the City of Dallas Office of Homeless Solutions for 2 years, assisting homeless individual’s in becoming self-sufficient. Ms. Howard worked for The Department of Family and Protective Services for 4 years where she investigated abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly, adults and teens with mental illnesses and physical disabilities. MS. Howard has always had a passion for helping individuals face their challenges while providing guidance and assistance in helping them to become successful. A few things about Toy: She enjoys traveling to different states, crafts, movies and museums. Her favorite color is gray.

Administrative Assistant I

Joyce Peters

Joyce Peters is an Administrative Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. Although Joyce is from New Orleans, she has lived in the DFW area most of her adult life. Prior to coming to the University of Texas at Arlington, she worked several years at the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Joyce is a “DIE HARD” New Orleans Saints Fan and SEC Football Fan. When she is not at UTA she is busy spending time with her nieces and nephews or going to one of her favorite craft stores.

Kyleigh Easter

Kyleigh Easter is a native Texan, born in Ft Worth, TX. Kyleigh is currently an Academic Advisor at University of Texas at Arlington for the School of Social Work. Before joining the School of Social Work at UT Arlington, Kyleigh worked as a collegiate coach guiding and advising her players both on and off the field. She found her passion in helping students reach their goals and providing a safe space for self-expression. She earned her B.A. in Psychology at Lyon College in 2016 and a Master’s degree in education at Goucher College in 2021. When Kyleigh is not advising students at UTA she loves to spend outdoors, playing soccer, and visiting with friends.

Daisy Jones

Daisy L. Jones is a native of Mississippi, born and raised in the heart of the Hospitality State, Jackson Mississippi. Daisy made the big move to Great State of Texas in September 2018. Daisy obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work Degrees from Jackson State University. She is currently an Academic Advisor at the University of Texas at Arlington. Daisy previously worked for The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a Conservatorship Specialist. In this role, she gained experience of assistance families through the legal process of being involved with Child Protective Services. Being of service, is one of Daisy’s passions, in which she cultivated a personal mantra of Leaving families, client’s and now students’ lives better than the way she found them. When Daisy is not Advising future Social Workers, she enjoy spending time with her children, going home to be with family and friends, and watching Law and Order: SVU.

Desiree Warren

I am a born and raised Texas girl, however I had to go through New Jersey, and Georgia to get back to Texas. I am an Academic Advisor III for undergraduate students in the School of Social Work. I have been in the field of education for over ten years in which four of those years I served as an Academic Advisor for the Dallas Community College District. The other six years I served in ISD systems in both Georgia and Texas. I completed my master’s in counseling psychology from Troy University in Alabama and my undergraduate work here at UTA. I am enthusiastic about guiding students to their greatest potential. I like to spend my time with family and friends, volunteering in the community and sitting down with an enjoyable book. Yes, I said a book, they still exist.

Foundation Advisor

George Jauss

George Jauss is an Academic advisor at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. Before joining the School of Social work at UT Arlington, George worked in various avenues that involved social work including working with the Boys and Girls Club as music director and gaining experience with Children and family services. He earned a B.A in History at California State University, San Bernardino and A master’s degree in education at Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego. When George is not advising students at UTA, he loves spending time with his family, spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and playing his guitar. George is also a published singer/songwriter.

Brittany Latcher

Brittany Latcher earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University in 2011. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2016. Brittany has practiced within the social work setting for 10 years. Her areas of expertise include children and families and mental health. Brittany enjoys being involved within her community and church. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Meverlyn Maisonave, MSW

Meverlyn Maisonave is an Academic Advisor III for the school of Social Work. Before joining the School of Social Work at UT Arlington, Meverlyn worked as a College and Career Counselor at a High School in New Haven, CT. She earned her BSW with a minor in Psychology at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s in Social Work specialized in Mental Health and Substance Use at Southern Connecticut State University. When Meverlyn is not advising future social workers at UTA, she loves spending time with her family, reading and traveling.
