Information for Parents
As your son or daughter makes the transition from high school
to the University of Texas at Arlington, one decision that will impact the
rest of their life is whether or not to join a fraternity or sorority. The
Greek community plays an important role on campus as well as throughout the
community. Leadership, scholarship, community service and brotherhood/sisterhood
are the ideals that founded each of our organizations.
The Greek community at UTA positively contributes to student
development. Membership in a fraternity or sorority helps students feel a
connection to the University and their chapters. It offers a scholastic support
system, service opportunities, and close friends who will provide encouragement
and support when times are difficult.
UTA is home to more than 675 Greek members, and currently
27 fraternities and sororities. The University administration works diligently
with collegiate, alumni and national offices to assure the highest quality
of experience for each student. As a parent, you are undoubtedly concerned
about your son and daughter’s college experience and the choices that
he/she have about fraternity/sorority membership. If you have any question
about fraternities and sororities please contact us at (817)-272-2963.
