I made a Christmas version Utako, the mascot. It's so cute. I'm a sucker for cute. We are working on a viewing schedule for next semester. Our next meeting is January 5, 2002. You can expect some nice things from FuniMation. They would like to sell their dvds at the club for $10 a piece. These include Dragon Ball, DBZ, Lupin, Blue Gender, Yu Yu Hakusho, and whatever else they get. I also found out that they bought Fruits Basket and everyone can expect it out some time next year, but don't quote me on that. I just know they have it. They want to start selling the dvds as soon as possible so we may have this ready for the January 5 meeting. Also, FuniMation is having a screening in the Rosebud Theater in the University Center at UTA. They will be showing Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge.

I had a blast at ArlingCon 7. I can't wait for 8! As I was running around everywhere on Saturday, everything seemed to be going fine. I hope everyone had just as much fun as I did. We had a good turnout and I would just like to thank everyone who showed up. I would especially like to thank Shotokan, the Anime Store, FuniMation, Maximum CNG, and all the volunteers. I would also like to thank those who work for UTA for allowing us to use the University Center, some of the A/V equipment, the mats, and the equipment used that is stored in the UC.

Our last meeting of the semester is this Saturday, December 8. It's bishounen night! However the anime we will be showing does not focus on the fact that the guys all look really good. Everything we show should appeal to most everyone. There will be checkin, but no checkout. Keep checking the website for the meeting schedule for Spring semester.

Lots and lots of announcements with regards to the con. An updated schedule and map of ArlingCon are up and also a campus map. Remember, the con is in the University Center. It is circled on the map.

This week we were contacted by both FuniMation and Maximum CNG. FuniMation will be having an actor signing at the con. Our guest is Chris Sabbath, the voice of Vegita on Dragon Ball Z and the casting director at FuniMation. He's a really nice guy so come on and meet him. FuniMation has also kindly donated some dvds and tapes for us to give out as prizes for the game shows and foam weapons tournament. Funi will also be screening their latest release, Blue Gender. It looks really good from what the dvd insert says. Maximum CNG is a tabletop gaming company. They will have a panel and will do demos of their new rpgs in the main lobby area of the con.

I also have an announcement regarding the Cowboy Bebop Movie. My file that I worked so hard on these past two weeks became corrupted. I don't know how. "F****** Windows 98! Get Bill Gates in here!" Anyway, all is not lost. We will still be showing that movie. I'll be d***** if anything gets in the way of that. The only thing is that the subs may be a bit small. We are using the nice digital projector and a giant movie screen, so hopefully it won't be a problem. Therefore, nobody better gripe to me about the subs. I just may burst into tears remembering how long it took me to make that file. I don't want to hear any complaints. The other officers and I have been working extremely hard for you guys. We will be showing an encore presentation of the movie at one of the meetings of the spring semester so look forward to that if you can't see it at the con. That showing WILL have the better subs. I WILL fix that file!!

ArlingCon, ArlingCon, ArlingCon!! It's this Saturday, people! I've updated all the pages to reflect our most current information. There is also a schedule on the main ArlingCon page. Go download it! I'll get a web-friendly version up too soon. A lot has been updated so please check it out. In other news, AnimeUTA was in the Arlington and Fort Worth Star Telegrams! The vice-president, Angie, and I were interviewed. We will also be in the UTA newspaper, the Shorthorn. Look it up on the web. I would also like to say that preparing for this con has been no simple task, but it has been a lot of fun. Even now, we are still getting ready. This year, the con will have a Clamp theme, so expect to see decorations for it here and there. I would also like to specify, while I have your attention, that the con goes from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm. People have been asking me a lot lately so I thought I'd clarify it here. All other information regarding the con can be found on the ArlingCon7 page. The link for it is on the AnimeUTA main page. Keep checking this site for more information as I imagine there will be plenty of updates from now until Saturday.

The main page and the meeting page have been updated. Remember, there is a meeting on November 17. That is one week from now. The Matt "Vash" auction is now open. Go to the ArlingCon7 page or to the main page for the auction link. I also redrew the mascot. She still doesn't have a name. I'm horrible with those, so if anyone has suggestions please e-mail myself or the club. I'm thinking of doing like what the Anime Turnpike does with Trixie Turnpike and have our mascot change her outfit every so often.

I've updated the main page and links page. The links page now has all the places where people can get discounts from on it. Fliers will be distributed around campus and to the stores some time this week. (Possibly tomorrow) so look for them.

Dude, two updates in one day. I made a page for ArlingCon7 and I updated the links section. As soon as I go through the paper work, that section will have links to member pages that requested we put a link to their sites. Of course, in return, we would like a link to AnimeUTA.

The main and meeting pages have been updated. Fliers are out at the sponsor stores if anyone is interested in picking one up. I was very pleased by everyone's behavior at the last meeting. Everything went so smoothly. Thank you for everyone's cooperation. Because of that, I have thought of a little reward. You all get your surprise during the break. Why do I feel like an elementary school teacher when I say that? Anyway, just know that if you want to see something good, stay in the theater during break.

The schedule and main page have been updated. In regards to the last meeting, I am very disappointed with those that were involved. A faculty member should never have to complain about our club. We could lose our nice room. Because of this incident, the other officers and I have discussed some new rules. Nothing has been set in stone yet, but this is what you can expect:
1) No food or drink anywhere except outside.
2) During announcements and the actual viewing, there is to be no loud talking, no food or drink, no horseplay, etc. If I can here you outside in the lobby, then you are being too loud.
3) There are some other rules, but they are still being finalized.
I would also like to remind everyone that this is supposed to be a college club. Therefore, people should act accordingly. This is not a daycare center. We are not responsible for how you act, nor should we be. If you feel the need to release your energy, then please go outside. I don't want to come back from getting karaoke stuff to find out that people have been throwing themselves against the walls and causing chaos. This sort of behavior reflects badly on the club. My younger brother is ten-years-old and even he knows how to behave. Now that all that has been said, I expect to have a better meeting this Saturday.

Wow, almost a full month without an update. The site is now almost complete. I've uploaded two versions of the library. The members page has been updated. The only sections left to finish are the general info page and the ArlingCon page. All the ArlingCon info can be found in the info section. On a final note: miracle of miracles, the library has been alphabetized. I took the liberty of doing so yesterday.

Well, this is the new webpage. If people get sick of the purple monochromatic color scheme, I can always change it. Our new mascot is on the front page on the left. She doesn't have a name yet, so feel free to e-mail us with suggestions. The website will gradually be changing from the old style to this new one, so bear with me. Animefest is Labor Day weekend, therefore there will be no meeting that weekend. The next one is September 8th. I hope to see you all there.
