Constitution

ARTICLE I
Name and Purpose
Section A: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Business Constituency Council of Student Congress, hereafter referred to as BCC in this document.
Section B: Purpose
The purpose of this organization is to represent and reflect the views of the students of the College of Business Administration in both Student Government and in these affairs which affect the students of the College of Business Administration.

ARTICLE II
Organization
Section A: Composition
The BCC shall consist of any student qualifying under section C, No. 1.
Section B: Functions and Powers
1. The BCC shall endeavor to involve the maximum number of students of the College of Business Administration in the affairs of the college and the University.
2. The BCC may discuss any questions or matters which are pertinent to the students it represents, the College of Business Administration, the University, or which relate to the powers and functions provided for in this constitution, and may make recommendations to any individual and/or group on any such questions or matters.

3. The BCC may recommend or enact legislation on any question or matter that
rests entirely with the students of the College of Business Administration with
the exception of those functions and powers reserved to the Student Congress of
the University.
4. The BCC may express its opinions concerning any topic that is of interest to the students which it represents and may submit recommendations in the form of a resolution on any of those topics to the Student Congress of the University.
Section C: Qualifications
1. Any undergraduate, degreed undergraduate, or graduate student classified as a pre-business major or who has declared a major in the College of Business Administration, and who has a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is eligible for membership in the BCC.
2. In order to vote, a member must attend two consecutive BCC meetings. Votes by proxy will not be accepted.
Section D: Maintenance and Membership
A student must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.00 in order to maintain membership in the BCC. Membership shall continue so long as the student is enrolled at the University and remains a pre-business/business major.
Section E: Advisors
A Faculty Advisor shall be selected by the BCC to serve without vote. A second Advisor will be provided from the Office of Student Governance and Organizations.
Section F: Officers
1. The officers of the BCC, referred to as the Executive Committee, shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity. The president shall be elected in the Student Body Elections governed by the Office of Student Governance and Organizations held in the Spring Semester. The remaining four officers shall be elected by the General Body of the BCC.
2. Qualifications for the Executive Committee shall be maintenance of an overall grade point average of 2.0 or above, and a properly declared major in the College of Business Administration.
3. A Vacancy of any office other than the President in the Executive Committee shall be filled by appointment. Appointment shall be by majority consent of the remaining Executive Committee members. Officer(s) appointed by the Executive Committee shall serve for the balance of the term of office to which elected.
4. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the Vice President shall succeed to the Presidency until such that a special election can be held. A special election must be held within one (1) month of the date of such vacancy. Officer(s) elected by special election shall serve for the balance of the term of office to which elected.
5. Any officer or committee chair elected from among the membership of the BCC may be removed from office by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the eligible voting membership of the BCC present at the vote, provided written notice is given to all members no less that one (1) week prior to the vote on removal.
6. In the event of two (2) or more missed meetings, General Body or Executive Committee, by an Officer will result in removal from office by the procedure stated in Section F, No 5.
7. The term of office for all elected officers shall exist until the newly elected Executive Committee of the BCC is installed.
Section G: Procedures
1. Robert’s Rules of Order, Revised shall be the official rules of order.
2. The BCC shall meet at a time agreed upon by the Executive Committee.
3. The President of the BCC may call meetings with twenty-four (24) hours notice to the membership and the Advisors.
4. All announcements and copies of the minutes of each meeting shall be sent to the Faculty Advisor, the Student Governance and Organizations Advisor, Dean of the College of Business Administration, Student Congress and all participating Business Organizations.
5. BCC General Body meetings can be held even without fulfilling the general quorum. Matters that require general body input/vote, will be tabled until next meeting. If the matter is of urgency, then a vote will be taken to get a general consensus.
Section H: Committees
The President of the BCC may establish those subsidiary committees as deemed necessary.
Section I: Amendments
1. This constitution may be revised or amended by introducing proposed amendments in writing at one (1) regularly scheduled meeting prior to voting. They shall require a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the eligible voting membership present at the next regularly scheduled meeting for approval.
2. One (1) copy of each amendment shall be sent to the Student congress through the Office of Student Governance and Organizations for approval.
3. Upon approval, the amendment shall become a part of this constitution.
Section J: Effective Date
The effective date of this constitution shall be that date upon which notifications of approval is received from Student Congress through the Office of Student Governance and Organizations.
