The chapter held it's two day retreat on July 21 and 22. The event combined a communication and leadership workshop with a brotherhood and a community service event. The retreat was a huge success with 90% attendance.

Friday night the chapter held its communication and leadership workshop in a banquet room at Speed Zone in Dallas. The chapter broke into teams to tackle various small group projects aimed to get the brothers to think about different communication and leadership styles. After the workshop and pizza buffet the chapter held a brotherhood at the amusement park. We raced go-carts and played miniature golf.

Saturday morning the chapter sent volunteers to Asthma Care Clinic of Arlington to participate in a party for the Boys and Girl's Club of Arlington. Eleven DU's volunteered at 8am to staff the carnival. Our brothers helped the BGC by staffing carnival games, face painting, cooking lunch, and entertaining the kids.

The chapter had a blast at the retreat and looks forward to having more retreats like it in the future. It was a great way to kick off the year as we get ready for rush, school, and the year ahead.
