Due to the Fall Engineering Deans Forum scheduled for Tuesday, November 18 at 12:30pm in 100 Nedderman Hall, todays general body meeting has been CANCELED. Please make an effort to attend the event on Tuesday and listen to a presentation from Dean Carroll. He will be providing an update on the current construction projects, the College of Engineering as a whole, and address your questions, concerns, and comments. This is your opportunity to speak directly with Dean Carroll.
As always, JCEO will be providing free pizza and drinks for everyone who attends. We simply ask that you stay for part of the presentation, as a courtesy to Dean Carroll, JCEO, and yourself.
Please invite your friends and anyone else who is interested (need not be an engineering major). We are hoping to have at least 100 students in attendance for this event.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

NASA’s Space Shuttle and the crew of STS-126 are currently scheduled for launch tomorrow at 7:55pm EST (8:55pm CST). In honor of this event, JCEO will be hosting a Shuttle launch party starting at 7:30pm in 100 Nedderman Hall. There will be a limited amount of pizza and drinks, but please stop by and watch the launch with some of your fellow students. We will be there unless there is a strong possibility that weather or another technical problem will prevent launch.
Any cancellation notice will be posted to the website and sent out to the listserv.
See you tomorrow!

Engineers Week planning is upon us. To provide an opportunity for everyone to get involved, we have created a Google group to facilitate planning efforts. If you would like to become a member of this group and assist us in planning Engineers Week, simply send an e-mail to jceo@uta.edu and we will send you an invitation.
Engineers Week is put on by the UTA Joint Council of Engineering Organizations as a celebration of engineering and its contributions to society. Please help us make it a successful week by volunteering. We have a variety of positions available and can benefit from as little as 10 minutes of your time each week.

Thanks to those of you who were able to attend our Engineers Week Kickoff Meeting this past Tuesday evening. While turnout was low, we had a great review of last year’s events and started the discussion on what will take place this year.
If you weren’t able to attend the meeting, but would still like to volunteer, don’t worry. We will have a similar meeting a week or so from now. There will also be a Google Group invitation going out to any interested parties. If you would like to receive an invitation, simply e-mail us at jceo@uta.edu and we’ll make sure to add you.
Look for an announcement of the second Engineers Week meeting this weekend!
