The Native American Student Association represents the interests & concerns of Native American students attending the University of Texas at Arlington. We have as our mission:

  • To share knowledge through meetings & activities
  • To strengthen Native American cultural identities
  • To encourage mutual support among Native American students
  • To advocate higher education for Native Americans
  • To provide an annual Scholarship
  • To distribute information about local Native American events
  • To help educate the UTA and D/FW communities about Native American issues and cultures

NASA also serves as the UTA chapter of the American Indian Science & Engineering Society.

2008-Mar-18: The 2008-09 NASA Scholarship Application is now available. You can learn more about the scholarship and download the application here.

2007-Nov-30: The UT Arlington home page has a feature profile of Eugene Brown, elder for the organization. You can view the Eugene Brown profile here.

2007-Nov-17: The Shorthorn, the university's student newspaper, had an article about the This Is Not A Costume event on November 14, 2007. You can view the article along with a video clip here. The video clip is also available on YouTube.Com

2007-Oct-09: The vendor form for the 2008 Pow Wow is now available in Adobe PDF (download Acrobat Reader here).

2007-Oct-09: The 13th annual Pow Wow will be held on March 8, 2008. The Pow Wow web page is updated and a small poster is available for download.

NASA was one of only eight American Indian student organizations featured in AISES Winds of Change magazine, 12th Annual College Guide for American Indians. The article closed on a very positive note: "at UT, Native students know they are supported and encouraged every step of the way in their journey through higher education". The praise, recognition and support of AISES is much appreciated.
