Student Organization Awards

To self-nominate your student organization for one of the following awards, visit the Student Organizations' office to pick up an application. Applications will be available on February 24, 2014 and must be submitted by March 28, 2014 at 5pm.

Student Organization Awards

These awards recognize those organizations which have shown excellence in serving their members, the University, and/or the community. Each includes a plaque, a monetary award, and recognition at the Leadership Recognition Ceremony for each category winner. Applications are accepted in the spring semester of each academic year. Check back for more information regarding applying for these awards. Each application will be considered on its merits with regards to the unique qualities of its category.

Outstanding Student Organization ($500)

Recognizes the student organization that demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity, and dedication. Made a meaningful contribution to students, the University, and/or the surrounding community. Organized activities, events, and programs that have had a significant impact on the quality of campus life at UT Arlington. This award is celebrates is a mix of all three awards below.

Most Spirited Student Organization ($200)

Recognizes the student organization that best displayed spirit for its organization and UT Arlington. Demonstrated Maverick pride and strived to enhance the campus community through support of University traditions, events, and “Maverick Country”.

Best Example of Teamwork by a Student Organization ($200)*

Recognizes the student organization that most embodied the elements of teamwork, collaboration and quality programming that benefit UT Arlington. Worked most effectively with other student organizations, University departments, and/or the greater Arlington community. All applicants in this category should note this is for campus programming.

Outstanding Contribution to the Greater Community by a Student ($200)*

Recognizes a student organization that made a meaningful contribution to the surrounding community through service. Addressed an existing problem, was committed to working with and for others, and successfully inspired and motivated others to act. All applicants in this category should note this is for off campus/community programming.

 

*These awards are open to Greek-letter organizations affiliated with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life.

 

Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award

It is also our goal to recognize outstanding service by advisors to their organizations.  Along with the Student Organization Awards, this award will be presented at the Leadership Recognition Ceremony and will include a cash remuneration of $350.00 and a plaque.
