If a student does not dispute the allegations upon which the conduct violations are based and signs a written waiver of a hearing, the conduct officer will assess a discipline sanction appropriate to the facts and inform the student in writing of any sanctions and deadlines by which the sanctions are to be completed. The student may appeal the sanctions assessed by the conduct officer to the president of The University of Texas at Arlington.
Note: Disciplinary sanctions can theoretically range from an official warning letter, disciplinary probation, suspension, to permanent expulsion from the University. The sanctions that have been used reflect the seriousness with which The University of Texas at Arlington views the violation, and may include any previous policy violations made by the student. Cases involving scholastic dishonesty will also receive an academic penalty from the faculty member.
For more information regarding this process please review the Administrative Disposition section of the Initiation of Disciplinary Charges in chapter 2 of the Code of Student Conduct & Discipline.
