When considering an organization, it is important to meet as many of the members as possible. Be sure to ask about the founding values of the organization, what type of events the organization participates in, and what the organization is looking for in its members.
Remember though, while you are looking for an organization that will fulfill your needs, the organization is also looking for members who will fit in with their values. The recruitment process is a mutual selection process. Be sure that you are comfortable with the organization and that they are comfortable with you before you join.
Interfraternity Council
Formal Rush will take place Monday, September 8th, 2008 through Saturday, September 13th, 2008. To join an IFC fraternity, you must attend the MANDATORY Orientation Session and Tour of Homes on Monday, September 8th, in the Rosebud Theatre and Bluebonnet Ballroom at 6pm. You must attend this orientation event to be eligible to join an IFC fraternity at UT Arlington. IFC Bid day will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2008 at 12 noon at the Fine Arts Bridge. Panhellenic Council
To join a PHC Sorority in Fall 2008, you must go through the Formal Recruitment Process which starts with a MANDATORY Orientation on August 27th at 6pm in the UC. You can register for the Formal week at any time after June 1 through September 2nd at 5pm. There will be a $40 fee to go through the September 3-6 Formal Recruitment Process. This fee is nonrefundable. You can either register online through our website (link will be added June 1st) or you can download the paper copy of the registration form (also after June 1st) and mail it into our office. The Panhellenic Council will have a table with representatives at all Orientation Activities Fairs this summer so please feel free to stop by and get more information from these women. We look forward to meeting you in the Fall.
National Pan-Hellenic Council
NPHC fraternities and sororities participate in the intake process. NPHC will host a MANDATORY information session ("Meet the Greeks") for all students interested in learning more about NPHC organizations and possibly participating in the intake process. This session will take place at 7pm on Friday, September 12th, 2008 – Rio Grande Room, U.C. There is a one time $5 registration fee. You must attend this session prior to being eligible to join an NPHC fraternity or sorority at UT Arlington. The intake process takes place during different times during each semester according to each organizations schedule.
Multicultural Greek Council
MGC fraternities and sororities host rush events each semester to recruit new members. MGC will host a MANDATORY information session for all students interested in learning more about MGC organizations and possibly participating in the rush process. This session will take place Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 7:00pm in Rio Grande Room in the U.C. There will be a $5 registration fee at this time. You must attend this session prior to being eligible to join an MGC fraternity or sorority at UT Arlington.
