Emerging Leader Award
The Emerging Leader Award was established to recognize students developing their leadership skills. Its purpose is to acknowledge an up-and-coming student leader. A student must be actively involved in at least one organization and have assumed leadership roles or responsibilities in some capacity while maintaining a G.P.A. of 2.25 or higher. Applicants may apply for this award only once. The amount of the award is a $500 scholarship.
Student Leadership Award
The Student Leadership Award identifies individuals who have made significant contributions to their organizations and University from spring 2003 to present. Students must be involved in at least two organizations and held a primary leadership position in at least one. Since academic achievement plays an important role in leadership, award consideration requires a minimum G.P.A. of 2.25. The amount of the award is a $500 scholarship.
Matthew E. Brown Leadership Award
This award was created by the family members of Matthew E. Brown in honor of his contributions as the former Executive Director of the United Way of Dallas and former President of the UTA Alumni Association. Selection will be based on level of involvement, effectiveness as a leader, and length of time served in leadership roles while at UTA. Recipients of this award must meet the minimum criteria for the Outstanding Student Leadership Award. The student must show ongoing leadership contributions throughout their enrollment at UTA. The amount of the award is a $750 scholarship.
