Stuff to Be Done in the Office

Make sure you are wearing your name tag in the office and while on rounds.
Check email and read duty logs since your last on call
Ensure that all equipment has been returned to the office before closing.
Ensure that all keys and temp cards have been returned.
Put away any equipment in its appropriate location
Empty the garbage and straighten the office.
Pick up any letters to be delivered and take them with you.
Make sure you have the RA Pager, Radio & On-Call Binder.
Forward the office phone to your room and put up the RA on call sign.
Complete your portion of the communication log and email it to the RD
Put Flash in RD’s box.
Turn off lights and make sure that the service window is closed and locked.
Round 1: The Social Round 10 pm
This is your chance to meet people, talk to residents, and find out what’s going on in the hall.
Use this time to deliver letters from the office, hang up posters, etc.

How many people are around: in the game room, computer lab, TV lounge, study lounge, kitchen, courtyard?

Round 2: The “In-Between” Round- 11:00pm
You should be checking on the general state of the residents and confronting any problems.
Also, make sure to remove any outdated posters or flyers. Don’t forget to check pull-stations and fire extinguishers.

Round 3: The Late Night Round (after midnight)
You should be checking for policy violations and confronting any other problems that you find. Also, please make sure the stove is not left on unattended.
