FreshmEn Leaders on Campus
Freshmen Leaders On Campus, a select organization for incoming freshmen, was founded at The University of Texas at Arlington in the fall of 2002. The mission of FLOC is to promote member involvement in student governance and community service, preparing students for active participation throughout their years at UT Arlington. FLOC provides great opportunities to make friends and to interact with varying aspects of university life. Members of FLOC quickly get involved in the university through networking with campus leaders, collaborating with other organizations and further developing leadership skills.
UTA-HOSTS! Peer Mentoring
UTA-HOSTS! (Helping Other Students to Succeed) is a student mentoring program sponsored by the Office of Student Governance & Organizations. The program is active in all schools and colleges on campus. Participation in the program is free and all positions are voluntary. New students, or mentees, are matched with returning students, or mentors, by major, school or college. The program is designed to last two semesters. Communication between the mentor and mentee is key to a successful relationship.
UTA Ambassadors
The purpose of the UTA Ambassadors shall be to maintain and promote new and old campus traditions; to increase awareness of UTA's services, programs, and activities to students and surrounding community; to establish and strengthen pride and passion for UT Arlington, on and off campus; and to represent UT Arlington and its students to the best of each members ability.
Student Congress
Student Congress serves as the elected representative voice of the student body. It passes legislation and provides services for the entire campus community. It has been active on UT Arlington’s campus since 1922. Meetings are held every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm.
Graduate Student Senate:
The Graduate Student Senate passes resolutions to improve graduate student life on campus, hosts guest speakers to discuss current issues at the University, creates ad-hoc committees to research potential changes in University policy that may impact graduate students, and assists with Graduate Forums, the ACES research symposium, and campus advertising.
