Whereas:

Many housing facilities on campus are wired for Ethernet and UTA wireless; and

Whereas:

UTA apartments that have UTA Ethernet connections do not have UTA wireless service such as: Meadow Run, Arbor Oaks, Timber Brook and Residence Halls;and

Whereas:

UTA Internet Usage Policy prohibits the use of wireless routers on UTA Ethernet connections; and

Whereas:

Many residents of said properties have laptops with wireless capabilities and are unable to access the internet included in the residents’ rent.

Be It Therefore Resolved That:

UTA amend its Internet Usage Policy to allow such routing devices or install wireless coverage to said properties.

Be It Further Resolved That:

UTA provide outside hotspots throughout the campus to provide a true wireless campus.
