Remarks: One room is not enough for all religions, most buildings do not have the space needed. Doing this would entagle the University with religion. Permanent space for just one room is not available. Also student organizations have the ability to reserve rooms.
Whereas: Students do not have a room of silence in populated buildings to observe peace or perform their prayers; and
Whereas: Before, during or after classes, students may want to perform their prayers or just observe silence; and
Whereas: Students are forced to perform their prayers in common areas since the nearest congregating places are at least a 10 minute drive away or more.
Be It Therefore Resolved That: That there be at least one room of silence/reflection where students can pray or observe peace of mind without distraction in each of these heavily populated buildings: Nedderman Hall, Central Library, University Center, and the Fine Arts Building.
