    Remarks:
    Whereas: It is currently clear the polluting effect that internal combustion engines have on out surroundings and nature; and
    Whereas: It is also apparent that the higher cost of gas prices are causing people to consider alternate ways of transportation than driving themselves; and
    Whereas: UT Arlington is starting to make an effort towards being eco-friendly in terms of making this aware to students, faculty and staff and having programs such as Recycle Mania; and
    Whereas: Incentives should be provided to UT Arlington students and staff using vehicles.
    Be It Therefore Resolved That: members of the UT Arlington community with vehicles that: 1)have a combined mileage of 40 or more miles per gallon (mpg), or 2)are classified as a hybrid, or 3)Use an alternative fuel source such as hydrogen, natural gas or electricity can purchase special parking permits, given at discounted rates; and
    Be It Further Resolved That: this priviledge be extended to all members of the UT Arlington community that purchase parking permits.
