    Remarks:
Whereas: Students, faculty, and staff members from a very diverse group of cultures struggle everyday to find a place to meditate and reflect in a private and secluded area on-campus; and
Whereas: This predicament creates emotional discord in their lives. Sometimes the students feel overwhelmed between their academic and personal lives and cannot vent their stress and emotions through meditation; and
Whereas: People with no other choice are forced to meditate on campus in areas like unsanitary stairwells, behind bookcases or outside while constantly getting criticized from others who feel these practices should be done in private; and
Whereas: The University of Texas at Arlington strives to promote diversity on-campus and has taken a number of steps to encourage a welcoming environment for different cultures, but has neglected the formation of a meditation/reflection room which will be a beneficial asset towards fulfilling the emotional wellness of its diverse student body.
Be It Therefore Resolved That: The University of Texas at Arlington provide a private room or area for its student body, faculty, and staff members, open to all UTA patriots for meditation or reflection.
Be It Further Resolved That: This room or space will remain open to anyone seeking its benefits and will not be affiliated with any one race or religion.
